Mountainside is managed by the Jefferson Area Board for Aging (JABA). Since 1975, JABA has been serving the needs of the aging community in the Charlottesville area and surrounding counties. JABA has been recognized repeatedly as a national leader in providing services to the aging community, helping to make Central Virginia one of the top seven "Livable Communites for All Ages" in the country.
Residents are entitled to all JABA services including options counseling, insurance counseling, educational seminars, information and referral and more!

To ensure the safety and well-being of those in a long term care community, JABA’s Ombudsman Advocacy Program advocates for the rights of your loved one.
At Mountainside, there are strong bonds among the community, residents and staff. There are intergenerational activities with local schools and children's organizations. Local shops and conveniences, such as a new library, pharmacy, and grocery store, are only steps away. And we work closely with Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Greenwood.
At Mountainside, there are engaging activities catering to the needs of each individual. We go on educational, relaxing and enjoyable outings. We foster intergenerational socialization. There's art, music, dancing, and and much more. There are opportunities for volunteerism and advocacy in the community. The availability of spiritual time with various parishes in the community, plus gardening, reading clubs, exercise programs, and more!
Wellness Center on site with weekly visits from Medical Director; Therapies on site provided by PT Plus; Assistance with special dietary needs; Medication monitoring; Assistance with personal needs; Medical staff on site 24/7, including LPNs, Med Techs, and PCSs.
Three fresh and locally-sourced meals each day, plus nutritious snacks prepared by our experienced chef. And for minimal fees: Transportation to doctor's appointments;
laundry service; housekeeping; beauty shop.
